SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV REVIEW
“Indestructible (I won’t let anybody, bring me down); indestructible (the last man stand-ing!)” This is what we were told in various high-pitched tones when Street Fighter IV was released in February last year. Cheesy as that may have sound; it reinforced the mantra for what would be, for some, the best 2D fighting game for a long time. Flash forward six months and news sneaks out that an updated version of SFIV is being released with Capcom denying this until their official press release (of course) that Super Street Fighter IV would be coming out in April of this year. Flash forward again and we have the release of SSFIV. Now, does it measure up to its predecessor and also what does it bring to the table for the ardent fighting fan? Read on to find out.

SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 REVIEW
The best game on the Wii. That is what Super Mario Galaxy could easily be regarded as when it was released back in 2007. The responsiveness of the controls, the music, the graphics, the gameplay. It has it all in abundance. Truly a benchmark for the Wii. Flash forward 3 years and we are greeted with the follow-up to that title, the straightforwardly named Super Mario Galaxy 2. So, what can the newest Mario Galaxy offer players that the first one could not? Read on and you’ll find out.

Addiitonal minor update
Hello again. Don't take this as me update every day or something but I just wanted to add on my previous post that there appears to be a countdown website for the arcade release of KOF XIII that also has some videos to view that cover the more techical aspects of the game's characters and the game as a whole. Be sure to give it a look:

And into July
Wow, so only one update in June? Yes, but June has been a really hectic month for me and things are only calming down again now. A lot has been happening in the games world what with E3, the unveiling of Microsoft's Kinect and the SONY Move devices together with Nintendo's 3DS as well. Usually summertime is a quite time for games and yet we seem to have had some of the biggest announcements in the gaming world yet. Maybe this is a sign of a changing trend with the big companies making their announcements at times of the year we expect to not hear anything.
Also, what do people think of the VAT hike to 20% next year? Supposedly games retailers will take the hit and not raise the price of their games on the shelves but the profit margin they will make on each game sold will be that much less as a result now. Independent retailers will appear to be the hardest hit with some supposedly waiting until the second or third week after a game is released before selling brand new copies due to the narrowed profits they will make. It sounds like pre-owned game sales will be more important than ever and hopefully a ban of the pre-owned market will not be enforced by law anytime soon, otherwise the gaming high street may be in big trouble!
Finally, a little know fighting title called The King of Fighters XIII is due for release on July 14th and what has been shown so far of the game makes for a very enticing and beautiful looking brawler. You can see som vids of the game in action below:
You can also chek out loads of stuff about the game, characters, game system and more at the KOF XIII official website at the link below:

In the midst of E3
Man, life can be so busy sometimes huh? Anyway, one little known event called E3 is taking place in Los Angeles right now and no doubt the interntet is bursting with news flowing out of the event like a flood in the New York projects in the height of summer. I'll update some of the choice updates from the event over the next few days as covering everything would only be possible if that was my actual job (I wish!)
Until next update!
Until next update!

News scans of Marvel vs capcom 3 show game's looking good
Hey there folks. Guess you've missed my updated recently but I've been a very busy individual the last few weeks and hope to return to a regular pace for updating from now on, starting with some scans of upcoming title Marvel vs Capcom 3.
Thanks to event-hubs.com more scans have been released of the upcoming crossover fighter. You can either check them out over at their website or view them right below here if you like:
Loving the comic book-style they're going with here and one can only hope that this looks as good in motion as it does in screens. More info and a playable version should be available at this year's E3 event so hopefully we'll be able to see whether the game will sink or swim there. In the meantime, admire the comic book-style screens on offer here and look forward to what's to come.
Thanks to Event Hubs for the scans

Marvel VS Capcom 3 is coming Marvel VS Capcom 3 is coming Marvel VS Capcom 3 is coming
Bet you can't guess what has been announced recently at Capcom's Captivate '10 event in Hawaii from the headline? Well if not, let me tell you. Although I had heard about this from an unnamed source back in Christmas last year and that Capcom were keeping it under wraps so that it wouldn't take the heat off of SUper Street Fighter IV it is nice to have this finally confirmed by good old Capcom themselves.
Although only few details have been released so far we can certainly look forward to a stellar installment of the Marvel and Capcom crossover series!
Oh yeah, there is also some trailer doing the rounds apparently. Something that showcases what's to come or something? Ah, there we go below this text right here. Have a look and see what you think.
All I can say is looking good. Now show some gameplay and that'll be even better. I want Frank West telling Spiderman he's covered wars y'know?

Super Street Fighter IV preview event at Manchester HMV Gamerbase report
A sunny day in Manchester beckons the excitement ahead as HMV Gamerbase throws a preview event for the release of Super Street Fighter IV where players could come and play the new game and try old and new characters alike in the latest rendition of Street Fighter.
The day kicked off at 9:00am and many seasoned and interested players were present with their fightsticks on hand to try their skills out against each other. Gamerbase Manchester had arranged 10 casual setups for play through the day as well as 4 main big screen setups where the main of the tournament unfolded, one where entrants could only use the new characters introduced in SSFIV. There was even a project showcasing some of the matches on the back wall of the room and with the sound pumped up made for an interesting and exciting occasion.
The new characters only tournament certainly placed players on an even playing field as none of the participants at today's event have been privy to the game (except those who may have attended the London event earlier in the month) and so it would come down to a true test of skill to see who could emerge victorious today. Capcom were also kind enough to donate additional prizes to the cash pot that would be split between the top 16 players in the tournament and would add to the overall excitement of the day itself.
Those who had registered for the tournament were put into 1 of 8 groups and played each player in the group, accruing points for wins and the top 4 of each group would go through to the next round. Although I was lucky enough to get through the heats (I came 2nd in my group) I was beaten in the 2nd round (by a very decent Makoto player I must add) but by that time I had been playing for about 6 hours against various other players. Characters that appeared to rise to the top of the new characters were Cody, T. Hawk and Deejay. Cody priority, tricks and all around flexibility make him a dangerous entry to the roster. T. Hawk is like neo-Zangief with just as much range, priority and some nice and quick rising and diving moves for added flavour. Deejay doesn't seem to have much priority but he has many tricks and decent combos at his disposal, plus the guy who won the tournament (player name shinji) used Deejay, so y'know? Of course the other charters were used in varying measures too but I did not see a lot of Hakan used by players today. Maybe he is seen as the new Dan? I think he has hidden potential though.
It was also nice on the casual setups to see the tweaks to the old characters as well. I played with Bison, Guile, Zangief, Gen, Fei Long and Abel. Each of those characters has had suitable tweaks that make them still relevant in SSFIV. For example, Bison can still to jumping medium punch x 2 on an aerial opponent, then catch them with his Ultra II to get some filthy damage. Guile 2nd Ultra comes out super quick and thankfully has good priority. Zangief's 2nd Ultra is 720 & 3 x kick in mid-air so you've got to be dexterous if you want to FADC a closeline into that. Gen has 2 additional supers and Ultras now which makes him even more formidable than before to play with. Fei Long's 2nd Ultra is useful for punishing overambitious opponents but only counters certain attacks? Seemed only half useful and like previous reports a little disappointing to be honest but maybe players will find better uses for it post release. Finally Abel's 2nd Ultra has him dash forward really quickly and can also take a hit (like a focus attack) so will be really good either when cornered or catching an opponent off guard even. I also saw other players use old characters with their new tweaks and they look just as formidable as the new entrants.
All in all the preview play day turned out to be really enjoyable and I will certainly attend again when they hold a future tournament. I might even have got my own stick by then. If they can have half X-Box 360, half PS3 next time that'd be cool too as I don't think I have £300 spare to be a stick for both consoles (maybe I should have won today's tournament though!) Definitely worth the trip!

Motion sensing SFIV could be a possibility
In a recent interview with website Videogamer.com Yoshinori Ono has said that it could be possible in the future that they will make a Street Fighter that utilises motion sensing controls.
An excerpt from the interview reads:
"I've been interested in motion-sensing for a while, ever since Wii was launched," Ono told VideoGamer.com at a recent preview event in London.
"But I don't think it fits the way Street Fighter is played at the moment. It does broaden the appeal to casual users simply because of the instinctive controls, but it just doesn't quite fit an intricately balanced game such as Street Fighter.
"Now, there is a possibility of doing something called Street Fighter Fit, or Street Fighter Exercise, that is more suited for motion-sensing games, but that would obviously be a slightly different-themed game."
It would certainly be both interesting and funny if and when people are perrforming shoryuken, sonic boom and spinning piledriver movements with motion controls. ONly time will tell.

New Super Street Fighter IV trailer wants you to buy the game, yo! AND SSFIV pre-release tournament is a go!
been really busy these last couple of weeks so sorry for keeping you eager followers waiting there. Anyway, mini-update today as I've got a lot to do today but Capcom have put out a new TV spot to promote their upcoming release of Super Street Fighter IV. Iyou're not convinced on picking it up yet it wants you to go and buy it upon release, yo yo yo yo yo!
Whether you own SFIV or not it'll certainly be worth a look when the game is relased in the UK on April 30th. Given that it will be no more than £30.00 on release is another plus in its favour as well.
On another note, Neo Empire and Gamerbase Manchester are holding a pre-release all day event for the game on Saturday April 17th. If you want to participate in the trounament (new characters only) you will need to register on HMV's Gamerbase website, otherwise just come down to have a play with thegame per-release and have a laugh.
More information can be found HERE (thanks to Neo Empire)
To any of you who go, see you there next Saturday.
