NO MORE HEROES 2 REVIEW

Otakus. Often outcast in society, they circle the toilet bowl of the social ladder when it comes to their level of importance in the world. Therefore it should be no surprise that in No More Heroes 2 we find one such individual who is hoping to redefine that stereotype, one body at a time. His name is Travis Touchdown and he’s back to wreak some havoc with his beam katana. Does he perpetuate peoples’ views on the sub-culture group he belongs to or does he show us that otakus are not just sad geeks who masturbate to anime and own hug pillows of their favourite luchador? Read on to see.

Other works I have done around the internet

I don't think I've done this as of yet but it struck me like a bolt of lightning today (and given the weather we've been having recently I'm expecting that to happen any day now).

You can check daily news updates that I have been contributing for the last six months or so at the excellent Daily Gaming News (LINK), a wonderful website that is as per it's namesake and is definitely worth checking out.

Also, although I have been updating the blog with reviews you can also check out ones that I have done for the website Realm of Gaming (LINK) which is a decent and fully rounded place to check for all things gaming. You can see the reviews that I have contributed at the links below:

Final Fantasy XIII review
GOW III review
Heavy Rain review
Resonance of Fate review
Blazblue Portable review
Tatsunoko vs Capcom review

Happy reading and as ever, please leave feedback if you feel compelled. Also, look forward to a review of No More Heroes 2 which I should be updating soon after having finished writing the rough earlier today in what could possibly have been the most humid cafe in Leeds market ever (I'm surprised I didn't pass out!) Still, keep checking the blog for the review which will be up soon.

UNCHARTED 2 REVIEW

Nathan Drake. A name you wouldn’t normally associate with situations of high action and adventure, yet this is the name of the main hero who has experienced many a high-adrenaline fuelled treasure hunt around the world’s various locations and which we have had the honour of experiencing on the PS3. The second of these will be chronicled in this review of Uncharted 2: Among Thieves.

SUPER STREET FIGHTER IV REVIEW

“Indestructible (I won’t let anybody, bring me down); indestructible (the last man stand-ing!)” This is what we were told in various high-pitched tones when Street Fighter IV was released in February last year. Cheesy as that may have sound; it reinforced the mantra for what would be, for some, the best 2D fighting game for a long time. Flash forward six months and news sneaks out that an updated version of SFIV is being released with Capcom denying this until their official press release (of course) that Super Street Fighter IV would be coming out in April of this year. Flash forward again and we have the release of SSFIV. Now, does it measure up to its predecessor and also what does it bring to the table for the ardent fighting fan? Read on to find out.

SUPER MARIO GALAXY 2 REVIEW

The best game on the Wii. That is what Super Mario Galaxy could easily be regarded as when it was released back in 2007. The responsiveness of the controls, the music, the graphics, the gameplay. It has it all in abundance. Truly a benchmark for the Wii. Flash forward 3 years and we are greeted with the follow-up to that title, the straightforwardly named Super Mario Galaxy 2. So, what can the newest Mario Galaxy offer players that the first one could not? Read on and you’ll find out.

Addiitonal minor update

Hello again. Don't take this as me update every day or something but I just wanted to add on my previous post that there appears to be a countdown website for the arcade release of KOF XIII that also has some videos to view that cover the more techical aspects of the game's characters and the game as a whole. Be sure to give it a look:

And into July

Wow, so only one update in June? Yes, but June has been a really hectic month for me and things are only calming down again now. A lot has been happening in the games world what with E3, the unveiling of Microsoft's Kinect and the SONY Move devices together with Nintendo's 3DS as well. Usually summertime is a quite time for games and yet we seem to have had some of the biggest announcements in the gaming world yet. Maybe this is a sign of a changing trend with the big companies making their announcements at times of the year we expect to not hear anything.

Also, what do people think of the VAT hike to 20% next year? Supposedly games retailers will take the hit and not raise the price of their games on the shelves but the profit margin they will make on each game sold will be that much less as a result now. Independent retailers will appear to be the hardest hit with some supposedly waiting until the second or third week after a game is released before selling brand new copies due to the narrowed profits they will make. It sounds like pre-owned game sales will be more important than ever and hopefully a ban of the pre-owned market will not be enforced by law anytime soon, otherwise the gaming high street may be in big trouble!

Finally, a little know fighting title called The King of Fighters XIII is due for release on July 14th and what has been shown so far of the game makes for a very enticing and beautiful looking brawler. You can see som vids of the game in action below:

You can also chek out loads of stuff about the game, characters, game system and more at the KOF XIII official website at the link below:

Looks like good weather this morning. Have a nice day!
