SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4 ANIME PROMO

Good day folks. A mini-update today as I have been adding pics to the Blazblue review I did last August and had to wring my clothes out as they came out of the washing machine soaking! Anyway, as the title suggests, Capcom have cooperated with Gonzo to release an animated promo trailer for Super Street Fighter 4 (which can never be a bad thing).

Links are below for both Youtube folks (credit goes to Youtuber derrace for that) and the article posted on Kotaku. Have a look!

Have a good day dispite the continuing chilly weather.

Reviews: now with screenshots

Good evening. In a move to liven up the reviews I've added to this blog since its opening I've recently decided to add screenshots to all my future reviews and have also begun to retroactively add them to old reviews as well. So far I've added screens to the Blazeblue: Calamity Trigger review and will continue to add screens when I am able. Check them out and see what you think.

BLAZEBLUE FACEBOOK GROUP

Afternoon people. I don't normally link to Facebook as I'm a great believer in face-to-face communication and I like to go outside and such stuff. However, there's a group on there for the upcoming release of hi-res 2D fighter Blazeblue. Anyone remotely interersted in tracking the progress of one of the few and most recent great fighting games should join up as they at least put all tidbits of information up there (and will probably update more regularly than myself on the matter). Check it out.

BAYONETTA REVIEW

'Now now Cheshire, the fun's just starting!' That alone could sum up the intro to Bayonetta, an action game which throws you in control of our titular character and resident witch of kicking-arse, Bayonetta. Read this review if you want to become excited about one of the best action games not just so far this year but possibly for the whole of 2010.

RYU GA GOTOKU 4 SPECIAL EDITION TO COME WITH HIP FLASK

As reportd on Kotaku, the deluxe edition of Ryu Ga Gotoku 4 is due to be released with a hip flask included in the package.

The deluxe edition's due to retail at ¥10,290. A bit pricey by anyone's standards but if you're a fan I'm sure you'll accrue the funds in time for the game's release in April. Then you can get drunk in style when Kiryu does!

TEKKEN MOVIE TRAILER VS FAN-MADE TRAILER & SSF4 ULTRAS

Afternoon there folks. Having just seen the trailer for the 'official' Tekken live-action film I feel it is my duty to update you all for your own perusal. Check it out and make your own conclusions!:

Just for comparison's sake, here's a fan-made trailer for the live-action Tekken film:

See which one you prefer. My eyes are cast towards to the fan-made one due to the love of the source material coming through in the trailer.

Also, for your perusal is a compilation video from Youtube of the newest ultras from Super Street Fighter 4 (Warning: the volume's not at a default all the way through the video so don't turn it up to 11 from the start):

Credit and thanks goes out to Youtuber derrace for the video.

Have a look and enjoy your Friday!

RYU GA GOTOKU REVIEW

Roaming around an interactive environment, sometimes exploring, sometimes fighting, sometimes just soaking up the scenery around you. Shenmue was a game franchise that had these things in abundance and it was a shame that the trilogy was never completed with a 3rd installment in the series. Although the franchise was Yu Suzuki's labour of love, Ryu Ga Gotoku 1 (hereafter RGG) can be seen as an inheritor of the best elements of the former franchise whilst at the same time making the action and fighting intense and wrapping it up in the captivating world of the Japanese yakuza.

SUPER STREET FIGHTER 4 HYPE-UP

In a change to the regular updates, this entry touches upon something that I don't think I've mentioned at any point in my blog's history (although if you read my Street Fighter 4 review you'd probably get the jist from there). Anyone who's remotely played Street Fighter before will be aware that an update to last year's release of SF4 is recieving an update this Spring and more so than the re-releases of SFII in its prime, this is something that DLC alone will not suffice.

So far, we've been shown that the additional characters that will be added to this update will be:

- Juri
- Deejay
- T. Hawk
- Guy
- Cody
- Adon

Plus, from details and screenshots on the internet we can see that an additional 4 characters are yet to be announced. Rumours circulating the internet suggest that these are new face Hakan (an Indian-style wrestler) and 3 familiar faces returning from Street Fighter: Third Strike (they being Dudley, Ibuki and Makoto). Only time will tell if this is the case or otherwise but fingers crossed that these are the remaining characters to be added to the SSF4 mix!

In the meantime, check out this fellow's Youtube channel for recent video updates from CES where the most recent verion's build of SSF4 was available to play and get excited:

SIREN: BLOOD CURSE REVIEW

How to classify Siren: Blood Curse. Is it a sequel to Siren 1 & 2? Is it a separate standalone game altogether for the PS3? In a way it is all of these things combined. Read on to find out why...

SOUL CALIBUR IV REVIEW

'Welcome, to the stage of history' says the announcer as you start up the arcade mode of Soul Calibur IV. A sure reminder that you are being welcomed back to another of Namco's long-established fighting game franchises, the Soul Calibur series.
